The Enchanted Life of Valentina Mejía
Simon & Schuster has provided a wonderful reading group guide, written by Cynthia Medrano, Librarian at the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh, and committee member of Rise: A Feminist Book Project.
Teaching Books also has great resources for The Enchanted Life of Valentina Mejía, including Meet the Author, Story Map Lesson, Cultural Representation Reflection, Fairy Tales/Folklore Lesson, and more. There’s also a Meet the Author recording, a guest blog post I did, and an audio on how to pronounce my name.

Simon & Schuster has provided a wonderful reading group guide for classroom, library, and reading group use, written by Cynthia Medrano, Librarian at the Highland Park Public Library. It may be reproduced in its entirety or excerpted for these purposes.
Also! If you’re looking for a fun cross-curricular activity for students, check out this fantabulous art activity based on the project Luchy is assigned in GROW UP, LUCHY ZAPATA. I had so much fun creating it for the story and I’m excited to see it live now.
