Had such an incredible time this morning presenting with author friends @jmorerabooks @kerryomalleycerra @sitawrites and media specialist extraordinaire Leah Miller. (Thank you, Jackie, for these photos!!) We had a packed room! So grateful for every media specialist who came to our session this morning. Keep doing the amazing work you’re doing! Miami friends! 🌴 Save the date!! #miami friends! This Friday, October 9, from 4-5 pm, I’ll be over at @miaintlmall reading from Fly Pajarito Fly during their Story Time Para Todos! Join us in partnership with Commissioner Juan Carlos Bermudez and @miamidadepubliclibrary for this fun, free, family-friendly event in honor of #hispanicheritagemonth and celebrating our cultura. There will be crafts and a giveaway too! Bring the kiddos and family! Hi friends! I’m sharing the new #teaching guide of Fly Pajarito Fly created by @thesunnysideteaching! It’s got tons of great reading questions and cross-curricular activities for use in the classroom and at home. These are great for the classroom, libraries, and the home. Friends! This October, @jmorerabooks @kerryomalleycerra @sitawrites Leah Miller, and I will be presenting at the 2026 Florida Association for Media in Education: Curious about upcoming events? Here’s where I’ll be in the next couple months: A small reminder this #hispanicheritagemonth (and year round!) that I write bilingual books for young readers of all ages that center Colombian/Colombian American and Latine characters and families, Spanish language, and tons of heart. ❤️ Got to visit @westchesterregionallibrary today for a while, and I found two of my books on their shelves! The others were checked out or in other libraries. It feels like a dream that in the same space where my mom shared stories with me, others are finding mine today. As I meandered through the children’s section, and seeing the new cut-outs in the walls, I vividly remembered another era and set of shapes large enough to fit two best friends or to snuggle with a book in hand. 😌 📢 Friends, I’m reopening for a limited time to query and picture book critiques!
